As the UAE prepares for the sacred Islamic festival of Eid Al Adha 2025, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially announced free parking schedules, public transport timings, and service centre closures during the festive period. The comprehensive update, shared on Monday, brings clarity to residents and visitors looking to move across the city between Wednesday, June 4 and Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Free Parking Eid Al Adha 2025: What You Need to Know
In celebration of Eid Al Adha, all public parking zones in Dubai will be free to use from June 5 (Thursday) to June 8 (Sunday). This move aims to accommodate the surge in travel and facilitate family gatherings during one of the most important Islamic holidays.
However, multi-level parking terminals will not be included in the free parking initiative. These facilities will continue to charge standard fees throughout the holiday.
Residents planning to visit major commercial areas, malls, beaches, and parks are expected to benefit from the relaxation of parking fees. The decision is expected to reduce travel-related stress during the break and contribute to the festive spirit across the emirate.
Dubai Metro Timings During Eid Al Adha 2025
The RTA also released the revised Dubai Metro schedule, ensuring smooth operations and extended hours for commuters:
-
From Wednesday, June 4 to Saturday, June 7, the Dubai Metro will operate from 5:00 AM until 1:00 AM (next day).
These extended hours apply to both the Red and Green Lines, providing residents and tourists greater flexibility during the busy holiday period.
Whether you’re planning late-night shopping, dining, or visiting family and friends, the extended Dubai Metro service ensures reliable and timely transportation across the city.
Dubai Tram Eid Holiday Schedule
In line with the metro adjustments, Dubai Tram services will also operate on an extended schedule:
-
From June 4 to June 7, the Dubai Tram will run from 6:00 AM until 1:00 AM (next day).
The tram route, serving key districts such as Al Sufouh, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), and Dubai Marina, is essential for both residents and tourists visiting waterfront areas during Eid.
Bus Timings and Route Changes Announced
The RTA emphasized that bus commuters should check the S’hail App for the most accurate, real-time updates, especially since some routes will be temporarily suspended or rerouted.
One of the significant updates involves intercity bus services:
-
From June 4 to June 8, Bus Route E100 (Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Abu Dhabi) will not operate.
-
Passengers traveling to the capital are advised to use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi, which will remain active during the holiday.
Furthermore:
-
Bus Route E102 will run directly from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, without its usual stops at Ibn Battuta Bus Station or Musaffah.
These changes are part of the RTA’s effort to streamline transport and reduce travel time for those journeying between Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the Eid break.
Customer Happiness Centres Closed, Smart Centres Remain Operational
Residents seeking in-person assistance or services from the RTA during Eid should note that all traditional Customer Happiness Centres across Dubai will remain closed from June 5 to 8.
However, to ensure uninterrupted support, the Smart Customer Happiness Centres in the following locations will continue to operate 24/7:
-
Umm Ramool
-
Deira
-
Al Barsha
-
RTA Head Office
These smart centres are equipped with self-service machines and digital platforms that allow residents to perform most transactions without the need for human interaction.
Vehicle Testing and Service Provider Centres Schedule
The RTA also confirmed that service provider centres, which offer vehicle registration and technical testing services, will be closed from June 5 to June 7.
Some centres will partially reopen on Sunday, June 8, but only technical testing services will be available at the following locations:
-
Tasjeel Al Tawar
-
AutoPro Al Mankhool
-
Tasjeel Al Awir
-
Al Yalayis
-
Shamil Muhaisnah
All services, including transaction processing, licensing, and registration, will resume in full on Monday, June 9, 2025, across all RTA centres.
Public Urged to Plan Ahead for Smooth Commuting
With large gatherings, social visits, and religious events expected to take place across the city, the RTA has urged commuters to plan their trips in advance and take full advantage of the updated schedules.
For those using public transport, using the S’hail app is highly recommended. The app provides real-time updates, bus and metro routes, and even allows for fare payment integration.
Eid Al Adha 2025: A Time of Unity and Celebration
Eid Al Adha, or the “Festival of Sacrifice,” commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. It’s a time marked by communal prayers, charity, and family gatherings.
With the long weekend and official holidays declared, families are expected to engage in traditional practices such as the sacrifice of animals, special meals, and charitable giving.
To accommodate this spirit of togetherness, the RTA’s initiatives to streamline transportation and access are a welcome relief for many residents and tourists alike.
Safety and Social Responsibility Still a Priority
The RTA has reiterated its commitment to safety and operational excellence, urging all passengers and drivers to adhere to road safety rules, avoid reckless driving, and maintain public order.
All public transport and service facilities will also continue to follow health and safety standards, ensuring a secure environment for all during the festive season.
