Cristiano Ronaldo breaks new records with stunning performance

Dubai: Cristiano Ronaldo extended his impressive form to score a brace and guide Al Nassr to a 3-1 win over Al Khaleej in the Saudi Pro League on Tuesday. The Portuguese superstar, who has defied age to maintain his scoring touch, has surpassed another record held by his long-time rival, Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr from Manchester United in January 2023, has scored 100 goals plus assists in 92 matches, a milestone he has now achieved with every club the 39-year-old has played for where he has featured in more than 70 matches. The Argentine, however, reached this feat once with FC Barcelona.

Breaking records and making history
Ronaldo has 830 career victories, making him the first player to reach this milestone in the history of the sport. Other notable records include the most goals scored since turning 30 (456) and a streak of scoring goals for 24 consecutive years.

He has scored a record 919 senior career goals for club and country. He is also one of the few players to have played in 1,250 professional matches with 33 trophies in his career.

Since debuting with Sporting Lisbon in 2002, Ronaldo has maintained an uninterrupted streak of goalscoring excellence through to 2025, cementing his legacy as one of the sport’s greatest icons.

A record deal and consistent excellence
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in a record deal, becoming the world’s highest-paid athlete in the process, but he has ensured that every riyal spent on him is well worth it with his dedication and commitment.

The Portuguese showcased why he is considered the best, delivering under pressure to give Al Nassr the opener with a long-range effort in the 65th minute. Al Khaleej quickly levelled the scores, but Ronaldo added the winning touch near the end after Sultan Al Ghannam put Al Nassr back in the lead.

The win lifted Al Nassr to third in the standings.
