H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region, attended the Union Fortress 10 Military Parade at Al Ain International Airport, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The event, organized by the UAE Ministry of Defence, was themed “Pride and Loyalty, Pledge and Allegiance, Security and Prosperity.” In his remarks, Sheikh Hazza praised the UAE Armed Forces for their advanced capabilities, cutting-edge equipment, and highly skilled personnel, emphasizing their preparedness to protect the nation’s development and progress. He also reiterated the significant role President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed places on the military as the protector of the UAE’s achievements.
Sheikh Hazza highlighted the remarkable strides the UAE Armed Forces have made in organizational excellence, operational readiness, and personnel development, underlining their position as a model for modern military forces and as trusted guardians of the nation’s progress.
The Union Fortress 10 Military Parade was attended by several prominent figures, including H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, H.H. Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, among others. Senior officials from the UAE Armed Forces and Ministry of Interior, including Lieutenant General Engineer Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, were also present.
The parade showcased a series of events, including joint military displays by various units of the armed forces, demonstrating their high level of readiness and coordination. The performance included field manoeuvres and combat scenarios, highlighting the advanced capabilities of the UAE Armed Forces. Units participating in the event included the Land Forces, Air Force and Air Defence, Presidential Guard, Joint Aviation Command, National Guard, and Abu Dhabi Police, as well as other supporting services from the Ministry of Defence. The forces demonstrated their ability to conduct rapid intervention missions with exceptional efficiency and readiness.
The exercise featured electronic warfare missions, rapid intervention operations, raids by Abu Dhabi Police units, high-altitude military parachuting, and explosive ordnance disposal using robots. Advanced military assets, such as the Rabdan amphibious infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and the G6 self-propelled howitzer, were also showcased. Aerial units, including the CH-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter, Black Hawk helicopters, Apache attack helicopters, F-16 fighter jets, and Mirage 2000 jets, participated in the exercise.
Since its inception in March 2017, the Union Fortress parade has toured the emirates, with each edition held in a different location. This 10th edition marked the return of the event to Al Ain, following previous editions in cities such as Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Qaiwain, Expo 2020 Dubai, and Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
